The Daniel Burnham Center is a 150-story mixed-use development encompassing office, hotel, and retail functions.
Block 37 is in the heart of the Chicago Loop, bounded by Randolph, Dearborn, Washington, and State Streets. Adjacent to two major transit lines, and directly opposite from Daley Plaza, the site is in the midst of the Oriental Theater, Marshall Field’s department store, and the landmark Reliance Building.
Distinct 50-story and 30-story hotel masses, joined by a glassy elliptical bar of guest rooms, wrap around the southeast corner of the 150-story office tower, creating a 30-story atrium space between the three masses. Exposed structural members, honesty of materials, and open areas of glass provide a forward-looking interpretation of Chicago’s rich architectural heritage.
